ATV drivetrain rebuilds involve complete diagnosis and mechanical restoration of the power transfer systems that connect the engine to the wheels. Common failures include worn or stretched drive chains, chipped sprocket teeth, seized bearings, worn clutch plates, or stripped transmission gears. In many case studies, water and fine grit infiltration through worn seals or torn boots accelerates internal damage, leading to sludge-filled gearboxes and bearing corrosion. / Atlas begins with a detailed inspection and fluid drain, logging metal wear particles and gear oil condition. Chain tension, sprocket alignment, and clutch engagement are measured. Adam disassembles gearboxes to inspect input shafts, shift forks, and gear faces for rounding, pitting, or material loss. Bearings are checked for radial play and roughness by hand. Clutch packs are measured for plate thickness against OEM spec. Differentials are separated to check for gearset wear, housing cracks, and lost preload. / Worn or contaminated components are replaced with OEM or upgraded aftermarket parts. Chains and sprockets are installed with correct slack and lubricated. Bearings are pressed or driven in, checked for free movement. Gears are set with correct backlash and pattern. Clutch assemblies are pre-soaked and reset to spec release pressure. Everything is torqued per factory charts and rechecked after test rotation. Units are reassembled, fluids are replenished, and each system is bench tested before returning the ATV to service, ensuring the rebuild restores responsiveness and power transfer, eliminating drivetrain noise and drag.
