Crane Hydraulic Service

Cranes depend on precision hydraulic systems for controlled lifting, slewing, boom extension, and auxiliary functions. Hydraulic system failures commonly include cylinder seal leaks, burst hoses, blown fittings, pump cavitation, valve spool sticking, or internal bypass—often originating from age, contamination, or over-pressurization. / Atlas diagnoses issues by measuring system pressures at load holding valves, monitoring cylinder drift, and inspecting for aerated fluid, temperature spikes, and excessive control lever response lag. Tools include high-pressure test gauges, flow testers, temperature probes, and visual inspection of all lines, pumps, and valve blocks. / Field repairs range from resealing boom cylinders and fabrication of high-pressure hoses (crimped to SAE or metric spec on-site) to replacing load control valves and flushing entire systems to ISO 4406 cleanliness targets. System is retested at full operating pressure (often 3,000 PSI or higher) and verified under load. On hybrid and electronic-controlled cranes, electronic actuator position is synchronized to hydraulic output. / This service applies to all mobile cranes—rough terrain, truck-mounted, all-terrain, crawler, and carry-deck units. On-site repair eliminates the need for costly crane transport or crane breakdowns blocking a jobsite. Hydraulic components are rebuilt to manufacturer spec, and critical lift functions are pressure checked before handoff. Proper hydraulic service prevents catastrophic failures such as uncontrolled boom drop, failed lift, or swing system loss under load.
