Preventative Maintenance Programs

Preventative maintenance targets critical wear and consumption points on heavy machinery and diesel equipment. Atlas programs are structured by manufacturer hour intervals—250, 500, 1,000, and annual service cycles. Fluid changes include engine oil (15W-40, synthetics, or brand-specific blends), hydraulic system drains, and axle/transmission servicing per OEM specifications. Adam Carlson replaces spin-on and cartridge filters for oil, hydraulic, fuel, air, and cabin systems using cross-referenced part numbers for all major brands and imported machines. / Each machine undergoes a methodical inspection: track tension measured with a tension gauge, roller and idler wear checked for out-of-spec play, pin and bushing rotation examined, carrier undercarriage inspected for abnormal wear patterns. Cooling systems are pressure tested to identify leaks or weak hoses. Electrical systems receive load testing on batteries and alternators, connector checks, and evidence of corrosion on terminals. Hydraulics are inspected using pressure gauges at test ports to detect bypassing sealed cylinders or pump degradation. / Operating in Dutchess County's freeze-thaw cycles and clay-heavy soils, oil sampling is performed for contamination and particulate levels, while undercarriage wear is tracked through mud season and rocky terrain. All findings are documented with a service log, wear measurements, and recommendations for immediate or future repairs.
