Cracked weldments are ground out, beveled, and re-welded with MIG or stick, matching filler to base metal yield strength. / Hydraulic hoses running inside the boom are inspected for abrasion, replaced with field-fabricated lines, and routed with new clamps to prevent future chafing. After assembly, all zerks are re-greased, and the boom is cycle-tested fully extended under load. This process restores aerial lift structural integrity, keeping equipment compliant with daily inspection standards.
Hydraulic Hose and Cylinder Service Inside Boom
Atlas inspects and replaces hydraulic hoses routed internally, removing booms as needed for access. New hoses are fabricated on-site to correct length and fitting spec, fitted with abrasion sleeve and re-clamped. Cylinder rod wipers and seals are replaced to prevent leaks.
In-Field Disassembly and Pin-Bore Restoration
Atlas disassembles aerial lift booms on location, pressing out worn pins and bushings. Pin bores that have gone oval or oversize from repetitive cycles are repaired using weld buildup followed by precision line boring. This restores correct fit and eliminates platform drift and instability.
Structural Crack Repair and Weld Integrity Testing
Cracks in main boom weldments are ground out, beveled, and repaired in the field. Welds are performed with MIG or stick depending on steel grade and thickness, with attention to penetration and heat input. Finished repairs are checked visually and with dye penetrant if needed.
